Bernie Eschoo was an active CPS teacher for 34 years. During that time, she served as a Chicago Teachers’ Pension Fund (CTPF) Trustee from 2012–2018, representing the interests of active educators and helping safeguard the retirement security of Chicago Public School’s teachers.

Bernie currently serves on the RTAC Aid Committee and Social Committee along with being selected as the chair of the 2026 Nomination Committee.  Her primary focus as an RTAC Director is protecting the strength and stability of our pension system while advocating for affordable, high-quality health care options for retired members. She is committed to ensuring that retirees have a strong, informed voice in the decisions that affect their financial security and well-being.
